Gandalf in the suburbs, sneaking a smoke out back, missing the elves, knocking off an orc or two (once in a while) for no real good reason. Ahh, the good old days and nights: dancing with Tom Bombadil (and Goldberry too, of course). Wondering about what exactly happened in the last 13,254 months since that awkward Bree incident.
The Blue Wizards drop by sometimes, but not lately. They have become far too too high and mighty far out there in the desolate Eastern lands where nobody goes. The Ents are long gone, disappeared like their wives. I wonder. The Eagles seem smaller. Middle-earth is warming up. Sure wish some war would break out somewhere anywhere middlewhere.
